CAF 100x Continuous Duty Ventilation System Marine & RV Application

Installation is easy and only requires the following tools and resources:

1” & 1 -1/2” drill bits, Phillips screw driver, wire cutters and wire crimps. You will need to purchase the correct length of 3/4” ventilation hose for your installation.

The Clean Air FLO System is not designed to replace or be used as a main blower system

within the engine compartment to remove hazardous vapors. It is only designed to

remove odors from any number of areas within the vessel or RV.

3 Easy Steps
1-Install the in-line fan, 2 -Run the intake and exhaust ventilation hoses, 3-Connect the electrical wiring


Step 1 – Inline fan and bracket installation

Locate and mark where you wish to mount the inline fan, typically on or near the bulkhead. When positioning the inline fan, keep in mind the distance to your exhaust vent and the distance to your power supply.

Note: the exhaust comes with 10 feet of exhaust hose and the power supply comes prewired with 10 feet of marine grade wire. Sailboats typically mount the system near the stern. For the exhaust, you may tie into an existing outside vent or simply install a new one. The exhaust system may be reduced to a 3” vent hose using the included reducer. Do not install the system next to high heat sources such as engine or generator exhaust.

Use six of the #10 screws provided to secure the inline fan bracket. In some cases it may be easier to pre-attach the 4” exhaust hose to the inline fan with the included stainless steel hose clamp.


Step 2 – Intake and Outside Ventilation Hose Installation

Determine where you will run the 1-1/4” main vacuum lines. Drill 1-1/2” holes where needed, for example bulkheads, floors and walls. Use a 1” drill bit for the 3/4” vacuum lines. Note: It is suggested to configure the system with four 1-1/4” main lines and two 3/4” sub lines, although the possibilities are endless. Each main 1-1/4” line draws approximately 20 CFM and each 3/4” line draws approximately 10 CFM.


Always secure vacuum line ends to highest point possible in each area to be vented. Use the provided 90 degree elbows whenever possible to further reduce fan noise. It is recommended to run lines to the holding tank, bilge areas, bathrooms, compartments where the holding tank lines run through and in any areas where odors exist. The system can also remove heat from appliances such as refrigeration units, ice makers, air conditioning units and televisions.

We also recommend running lines into the main cabin and bedrooms to add ventilation and remove radiant heat from the top of the cabin. The thru hull fittings are provided to finish off hose in visible areas. Always cut the hose at the cuff so that they will fit into the intake manifold and PVC parts. No glue is required. The system pulls approximately 50 CFM total.


Step 3 – Connecting the Electrical Wiring

Always turn the power off before beginning the installation process. Always follow ABYC standards when wiring the inline fan motor. The Fan is 120V, 33 W, 0.28A and may be powered through an inverter. Use a 16/2 marine wire or larger and secure in place as per code. Use an existing plug outlet or wire directly into your electrical panel.
